Juergen Werner trained as an Economist while serving as an officer in the German Army. Once discharged from the Army in 1982, he promptly joined a German Insurance company dealing with real estate insurance claims. 

 

In 1986, Juergen started working for Impatex Construction company in Germany, where he was exposed to on-the-job training on home designs, taking off quantities, and site construction works. 

 

By 1995, Werner Wicker Wohnungsbau Germany, a real estate development company with extensive land capital recruited Juergen to develop over 2,000 homes comprising of apartments, single dwellings on single and double storeys. In 1999, Juergen designed and built an innovative energy efficient, fully timber construction home with 430mm thick sandwiched insulated walls, heated floors and the like. 

 

Juergen arrived in Ghana in 2003 to complete a private housing estate at Gomoa Fetteh. He later joined Anglo Gold Ashanti where he built 50 company homes on a steep terrain. Other working experiences in Ghana include re-settlement of 2 villages for Gold Fields mining Company and more recently, the completion of Sun City development at Osu in 2016. 

 

Juergen has a passion for energy conservation in the built environment and he brings to Dartwood a new sustainable approach to the development of our building envelopes and roofing system.
